As part of this celebration, current and past members, and the larger autism family are coming together in recognition of — and support for — AHA’s past, present and future.

COMING SOON! – PAINT & PIZZA – NEW DATE TBA

Enjoy a fun filled afternoon with friends to celebrate AHA’s 30th Anniversary. New date to be announced. Windsor Park Community Room, 212-04 75th Avenue, Oakland Gardens, NY 11364. $35 per person, includes 16×20 canvas and all supplies; pizza and refreshments will be provided. Limited spots available. The entrance to the community room is a side door of an apartment building next to the green sign that says “WP Swim and Tennis Club Community Center”. OCTOBER 13, 2018 – Classical Concert

Join us on Saturday, October 13th when pianist Linda Suzuki will perform a classical piano recital at the Japanese American United Church, 255 7th Avenue, New York. MARCH 17, 2018 – Keep The Change Film Event and After Party
Deadline March 8, 2018

Keep The Change, a winner at the prestigious TriBeCa film festival, is a romantic film about two young adults with Asperger syndrome trying to find their way. Join us on March 17th for a film viewing, and afterwards for a Q&A with Writer/Director Rachel Israel and cast members.

APRIL 15, 2018 – AHA and the New York Mets at Citi Field
Deadline March 14, 2018

Join us on April 15 (Autism Awareness Day!) at Citi Field for this Sensory-friendly exclusive game opportunity as the Mets take on the Milwaukee Brewers. Admission includes early entry through the Bullpen Gate; pre-game party in Bullpen Plaza with Kicking the Spectrum Karate, Hosh Yoga, Therapy Dogs, and Queens Museum arts & crafts (and more!); Cozy Corner open for children needing a quiet break; and, kids 12 and under are invited to run the bases following the game in the Mr. Met Dash.

APRIL 19, 2018 – Benefit Yoga Class at lululemon on 3rd Ave.

You are invited to a special one-hour yoga class (8:30 – 9:30 p.m.) featuring exceptional yoga teacher and lululemon ambassador Steph Armijo. Steph will guide you through a relaxing sequence of poses aimed to refresh and rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit. Kindly bring your own mat.

MAY 6, 2018 – AHA’s ANNUAL SPRING CONFERENCE

Sunday, May 6th at Adelphi University for AHA’s Annual Conference, “Focus On Independent Living for Adolescents and Adults On The Autism Spectrum.” Keynotes: Barry Prizant, PhD, CCC-SLP and Nick Dubin, PsyD. Includes Breakout Sessions, Agency Walkway, Bookstore, Resources.

MAY 19, 2018 – NYCFC vs Colorado Rapids at Yankee Stadium for Autism Awareness Day

Join AHA and the New York City Football Club for a family friendly match at Yankee Stadium. Help celebrate AHA’s 30th Anniversary. A small portion of each ticket sold through this advance offer will help provide the funds needed to continue to provide the vital services needed to the autism community. JUNE 10, 2018 – WINE MAKERS WALK & TALK PLUS VIP WINE TASTING

Ready to get your laugh on? Join us at Governor’s Comedy Club on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. for an evening filled with friends & laughter with food & drink all while supporting AHA. A portion of the proceed benefits AHA. Tickets must be purchased in advance, $30 each or 4 for $100; Plus 2 item minimum per person at the show; 18 & over. Great Raffle Prizes and 50/50! Today, the rate of autism diagnosis is higher than ever before, as is the need for the services of the Asperger Syndrome and High Functioning Autism Association. Since our inception in 1988 we have dedicated ourselves to supporting the autism community.

Our services reach nearly 10,000 people annually. These services include one-to-one phone and e-support, more than a dozen monthly support meetings, a bimonthly AHA eNewsletter, renowned biannual education conferences, a biannual print publication, On The Spectrum, family recreation events and our signature annual fundraiser ROCK ‘N’ BOWL for Autism as well as expert guidance in the areas of professional referrals, advocacy, education, employment, lifestyle issues, housing and much more.

Our wonderful members, sponsors and supporters are the fuel that drives our mission to fulfill the critical need for AHA’s services across the lifespan of individuals on the spectrum.
