Support Groups
 

We know, first hand, how difficult it can be to attend support meetings. However, we urge you to make the effort - you need the support (and we need yours).

Evening - Suffolk

   
  • This support group is for family members and meets to discuss the needs of school-age children.
   
Evening - East End    
  • This support group is for family members and meets to discuss the needs of school-age children.
   

Evening - Nassau

   
  • This support group is for family members and meets to discuss the needs of school-age children.
   
Daytime - Suffolk    
  • This support group is for family members and meets to discuss the needs of school-age children.
   

Daytime - Nassau/Western Suffolk Nassau

   
  • This support group is for family members and meets to discuss the needs of school-age children.
   
Daytime - Queens    
  • This support group is for family members and meets to discuss the needs of school-age children.
   
Evening - Manhattan    
  • This support group is for family members of all ages.
   
Evening - Brooklyn    
  • This support group is for family members of all ages.
   
Adult Groups    
  • These support groups are for adults on the autism spectrum ages 19 and above and take place in two locations. One is on Long Island (in Brentwood) which AHA partners with GRASP. Family members or friends are welcome to attend up to two sessions. The other is partnered with Spectrum Services in NYC.
   
Teen Group    
  • This support group, which AHA partners with GRASP, is for teens on the autism spectrum ages 13 to 19. The group is facilitated by an adult on the spectrum and the President of AHA. Family members or friends are not allowed to attend the teen group. GRASP lists other support groups on their website.
   
Parents of Adults    
  • This support group is for family members of older teens and adults.
   
     
Other Support    
  • This page lists support groups in neighboring areas including Long Island, Connecticut and New Jersey.
   
Internet Support    
  • This page lists various support listed on the internet.
